J.C.'s not on duty right now, and thus is not sitting at the end of the Bar but instead at a table by the Observation Window. He's trying to draw the view outside with a set of colored pencils. It's proving to be more challenging than he anticipated, but that comes as an unexpected pleasure rather than a source of frustration.

Botherable.

"Hey. I offered you a drink, a while back." A long while back, but Atton has a long memory, especially for faces.

J.C. looks up from his work. "Atton, right?" He thought Atton had forgotten the promise of a drink, although J.C. doesn't hold it against him. "I know you're one of the bartenders. Anything in particular you'd recommend?" This because J.C. can't think of any particular drink off the top of his head right now.

[stuck_mynock]

"Tarisian Ale? 'S heavily alcoholic." Brightly.

[synapse_circuit]

"Sure," J.C. agrees. He might have to hold off on any further sketching until he's sure of the drink's effects - although he can hold his liquor pretty well. "If you're having the same, maybe we can even figure out something to toast to."

[stuck_mynock]

""M no good at toasts, you'll have t'figure that out."

[synapse_circuit]

J.C. sighs. "Well, that's two of us." (His sense of humor has grown a bit during his stay in Milliways.) "I haven't been out of here in a long while, so I can't think of anything that fits."

"T'shiny things?" Atton suggests, as a waitrat arrives with two bottles of said ale. "T'violence? I don't know."

"I guess shiny things will work." J.C. sees and is involved in quite a lot of violence, or at least he was before he came here. It's not something he feels like toasting.

[stuck_mynock]

Atton similarly sees and is involved in a whole lot of violence. He just enjoys most of it.
"T'shiny things, then."

[synapse_circuit]

"To shiny things," J.C. echoes, clinking bottles with Atton and feeling fairly silly. He takes a swig of the ale, which turns out to be surprisingly good stuff - or at least good compared to the equivalent back home.

Atton falls silent, quietly taking swigs of the ale.

[synapse_circuit]

"Where's this from, anyway?" J.C. asks. "If it's around on my world, I might have to try and find it."

[stuck_mynock]

"Taris."

[synapse_circuit]

"Never heard of it," J.C. says. This has somewhat discouraging implications as far as his hopes of finding the drink back home are concerned.

[stuck_mynock]

"Planet on the Outer Rim. The only city there got razed about five years back."

[synapse_circuit]

Oh. A whole different planet. Well, then. "I guess that means they aren't making this stuff anymore," J.C. remarks. "Doesn't seem fair."
