First Entrance

Feb 10, 2008 22:22

The door was opened slowly, but the man coming through it didn't seem to hesitate. If anything, he seemed resigned, face drawn, although a small smile, rueful at best, was flickering about his features.

He was well-groomed, hands tucked in the pockets of a well-tailored suit, hat perched on his combed hair.

He was young, too, somewhere in his thirties, and yet something in his features suggested an infinite tiredness, a resignation to the way the world turned. Oh, he'd once believed he could change things, yes, and perhaps a little bit of him still did, but it wasn't evident.

Closing the door carefully behind him, he stepped out of the way, leaning with his back against the wall, eyes surveying the place for some time.

Finally, he allowed himself a long sigh, closing his eyes.

His lips just barely moved (a silent cry of Daisy Daisy Daisy), and as he reopened his eyes, briefly reflected in his pupils was a green light.

The light at the end of Daisy's Dock.

Milliways?
