There's a small commotion on the stairs as someone comes down - a young boy with long blond hair, stumbling and clinging to the rail. Patches of blood are visible on the shoulder of his tunic and on his pants at the thigh, and there's a burned spot right through the cloth at his side.
Five or six steps from the bottom, he loses his grip or his footing or both, and falls.
