After a couple of days in the infirmary, the kitsune kami had managed to convince herself she was sturdy enough on her feet to venture back into the commons. She felt slightly better if not still weak and shaken by the events she had gone through..but deep down she had convinced herself why it had happened ( Read more... )

Teja, though, has a reputation of being terribly unfunny.-

"Greetings, Inari," he says, approaching quietly, with a mug of tea in his hand.

Ah well! Maybe she wasn't in the mood for funny anyway.

Slightly faded blue eyes glance up at Teja when he speaks to her with a weak smile forming across her face. It still hurt to speak a little but..well..she was more than willing to give it a try for him. "And to you as well, Teja-san," her words were soft near a whisper. "You are faring well I hope?"

"Not truly," Teja says. "I had one of those nightmares as well, as you did -- I was told you did."

Pause.

"I was not hurt by mine, but I very much hate my friends being hurt by an untouchable attacker, and that is happening here."

Instantly Inari looked away, eyes diverting back to the fire infront of her. "I..do not see mine as a nightmare, Teja. Truely it was, yes, but I see it as much more than that."

What she may not discuss it unless questioned about it.

"You had one as well? A..place that was not of here?"

Her head turns a little toward Seimei before an expression of 'oh thank the light!' crosses it. When the kitsune speaks her words come softly and weakly. "Bad dreams, dear one. Though I think I have finally gotten my punishment for letting the sword be taken."

At least that was how Inari saw it.

"Join me?"

Inari pauses, watching the fire like she were trying to pick the right words to use. "I do not know how a dream could do such a thing, Seimei, but it did. Ryujin was there..sent, no doubt, to be the one to carry out the verdict."

Death or what was supposed to be so. Atleast that is what she thinks.

"I was supposed to keep the sword and my people safe. I failed."

Will is currently looking down at a notepad which Kate's been using to keep track of everyone who's been hurt. He's using some of the back pages to work on his writing rather than think too much about what's happening so doesn't notice Inari.

Being somewhat curled up in the chair wearing modern clothing made it easy to sometimes not notice the usually clean-cut kami. However she grunted a little as she adjusted her position, bumping her still somewhat numb arm against the side of the chair. That little bit of pain she could still feel.

"What are you reading," she says in a very soft voice, "that has your attention so, brother?"

Her voice surprises him and he turns, a bit slower than normal, he's still sore and sleep has been hard to find,

"Was practicin' my writin', Kate's been keepin' track o'souls who've been 'urt in dreams."

Inari's eyes narrow at that a little, her head moving to rest against the back of the chair. "Then you may add another to your list should you wish to, Will-san."

She didn't have to sleep as long as others did but..well..needless to say she was not looking forward to closing her eyes.

And there's a Malcolm Crowe, a cup of coffee in hand.

"Inari? How are you feeling?"

Inari let out a little held breath. "Sore," she replied in a near whisper. It hurt to talk with the stitches being pulled under the bandage. "Tired.."

Turning pale blue eyes to to Malcolm she gave him a very weak smile up at him. "I wish to thank you for your help the other night. Should there be anything I can do for you, it is yours."

Malcolm nods. "Thank you. I appreciate that."

A mild look of concern comes over his face. "Sorry--if I could--."

He gently touches her forehead with his hand.

"--Just want to be sure you aren't developing a fever of some kind."

"Are you sleeping all right?"

Her brow felt warmer than it should be..of course it could be just her sitting infront of the fireplace. When his cool hand touched her, though, her eyes closed. "I will be heading back to the infirmary in a little while. I wanted to see how long I could sit up and walk before returning."

Stubborn was what it was.

"Truth be told I have not managed to sleep since Doc-san brought me inside. Dark dreams..haunted dreams.."
