When Bill came back he didn't feel much like going home so, even though his body had apparently been sleeping the whole time without him, he went got a room and went upstairs to crash out.
He didn't sleep much.
Creepy hospitals with creepy doctors and him not in his body kinda makes for bad dreams. Also seeing his buddy all messed up like he was. Reminded him of Jack MacCready after ol' Grant and his brain slug zombies got to him. Disfigured and hurting. Luckily they were able to save Nathan, at least from the Old Kingdom. Who knows what's going on for him back in his world.
Having given up on sleep Bill is downstairs at a table with a cup of coffee looking every bit as tired and worn out as he feels.
