Jake comes downstairs and scans the bar quickly, looking to see if Peter is anywhere in sight.

millitime ...and Van Helsing is leaning against the stair-railing.

"Are you looking for something?" he asks from beneath his hat.

[boy_not_lost]

"Peter Pettigrew, actually. Have you seen him?" he asks.

He shakes his head.

"Sorry. No. Not sure I've ever actually met him."

[boy_not_lost]

Jake sighs a little, and kills Millitime by taking a stool at the bar.

"I'm Jake, by the way. What's your name?"

[pjpettigrew]

And in a separate continuity, Peter, who was ordered to speak to Jake by Roland, spots the young gunslinger and walks over to him.

"Jake..." he says, beginning a sentence--and then, seeing the expression on Jake's face, abandons it at once. "What's wrong?"

"Roland is ill. Do you have a moment ... or more than one, perhaps?" he asks, eyeing Peter's case.

[pjpettigrew]

"Definitely more than one." Peter gazes seriously at Jake. "What's wrong with him, do you know? What are the symptoms? And has he taken any medicine so far?"

[boy_not_lost]

"Fever, sore throat - but the worst is his coughing. He can't speak and it incapacitates him. I gave him a few aspirin tablets to ease the fever just a few minutes ago but I'd like you to take a look at him."

He frowns briefly. "If it got worse he wouldn't say a word."
