Oh no, Teja! You're under attack! Something has hold of your tail!

The black cat turns - and cannot!

He tried to roll up, his flexible spine turning far enough so his paws can bat at the white cat.

The white cat steps back from the batting, letting go of the tail as he backs up. Quickly, he feints to the left then pounces!

The black cat bunches up and tackles the white cat as he lands.

This would not be a matter for security yet.

Of course not.

The white cat uses the black cat's momentum as they land, kicking up with his hind-legs. It's a move intended to send one's pouncer tumbling head over heels.

At least Yrael does it relatively gently! This isn't a battle, more a cat version of sparring.

When you're a cat, you can turn over and over, hanging on with your front paws and kicking with with your hind leg, without being harmed; on the contrary, it is exhilarating.

You can be very fierce and wild, as a cat. That's why they have their 'crazy half-hours', the black cat finds.

You can be fierce and wild and not have to mean a jot of it. Yrael is laughing out loud as they tumble, fighting and kicking and pouncing.

He may tackle Teja and gnaw on his ear. Rar!

You can open your jaws incredibly wide and pretend you're going to eat the other cat's face now, while just laughing, fiercely, inside.

Also, other cats have tails that you can try and catch while they are lashing about.

Nomnomnomnom tasty ear! Hey - not the tail! He needs that!

In the flawless form, physically and alliteratively, Yrael turns and tugs on Teja's thrashing tail.

Of course, the black cat now won't give up on the white tail, and so there they chase each other in a circle, black and white, like a wound-up yin-yang sign.

Around and around they go,
Where they stop, nobody knows.

Faster and faster-

Who gets dizzy first?

The black cat - he stops, and digs in his paws.

"Oof!"

Yrael had been running on inertia, mostly, and Teja's sudden stop brings the white cat crashing into the black cat.

He may have tumbled a good way and landed upside-down against the side of the couch, but Yrael is laughing again.

And the black cat is laughing as well, in feline, as he pounces -- more for a tacklehug than for more fighting.

Yrael, still laughing, purrs comfortably.

So what if he's upside down?

The calico cat on a nearby table rolls her eyes, mwrrring amusedly. Edielweiss knows her godfather well enough to know when he's being silly and acting like a hyperactive kitten.

Teja had never acted like a hyperactive kitten all his life, but he does now.

He notices the other cat, but is too busy scuffling around with Yrael to greet her.
