There's an Yrael outside, today, practicing with a sword.

From the slight blankness of his face, one can tell that he's not really focused on his actions. His mind is elsewhere.

He may be humming under his breath.

dahlia malloy, yrael, kyo sohma

Kyo is sneaking up on him.

Or trying to, anyway.

Yrael has a sharp, pointy metal object and his mind really isn't on what he's doing with it. He seems to be trying to work something out in his head, while not paying attention to what he's doing.

He doesn't notice Kyo, even with that orange hair of his.

Kyo doesn't get terribly close.

He has a stick!

Poke poke.

Yrael...

...very carefully and very deliberately does not automatically turn and cut through whatever is poking him.

Instead, he looks over his shoulder.

"Evening, Kyo."

Dahlia planned to spend the day - or, at least, the small part of it she was giving to Milliways - wandering outside, bundled up, away from perfectly manicured lawns and annoying neighbors with pies and jello molds.

Except.

Holy crap.

That guy has a sword.

That bone-pale skin, stark-white hair, wearing-all-white guy who is dressed completely inappropriately for this weather, down to his very bare feet, has a sword. But for the sword, he might just be made of snow.

He's still a beginner. Be gentle.

He's also rather distracted by his thoughts, at the moment, humming to himself as he practices. He hasn't noticed Dahlia yet.

The mono-color appearance and the lack of shoes doesn't exactly inspire much confidence in Dahlia to move closer. Instead, she paces around him in almost a circle, keeping a very fixed distance between the two of them - distance that she assumes would be enough to allow her to get back to the Bar, if that sword turns out to be for more than show.

"...This place gets weirder every time."

The sound of someone speaking near him makes him pause in his practice, and look over his shoulder. He gives her a small, lopsided grin.

"What are you, new?" Said with the laughing tones of one who is knows that Milliways is probably the strangest place in the combined multiverse, and loves every minute of it.

Edmund was coming outside to do the same, but seeing Yrael, he takes pause to watch.

Most things he has learned about Yrael are interesting and probably dangerous. He imagines that the man (not really a man) is likely just as dangerous with a sword.

He is! But mostly because he is untrained.

He is still very much learning: a beginner with a healthy sense of intuition. He has a graceful form, but no set technique or style quite yet.

Yrael's mind is elsewhere, today. He hums under his breath as he practices, not yet noticing Edmund.

"Good Sir Malkin," the old meaning of the word, the demon-cats of Europe. Edmund knows that Yrael is something more complicated than this, but it is the closest thing he can think of that is the same. "A fine day for sword work, it seems."

"It is!" he turns to grin at Edmund, pulled from his thoughts. "Though the day might be better for swordwork than I am."
