Her eyes and her body language, yes. This was a girl in a lot of pain.

"Fraulein?"

Sooraya glances up, the tension in her posture lessening slightly.
"Mr. Wagner." She nodded in greeting.

"Would you like some company? ...Aside from this fine fellow, of course."

Kurt offers his hand for sniffing. He probably smells REALLY INTERESTING, what with the brimstone and all. ...Hopefully it's the good kind of interesting.

Najla sniffs, and then yips softly, stub-tail wagging. She loves meeting new people, and the smell doesn't bother her. Her "mother", after all, smells like a dust storm much of the time.

Sooraya manages a weak smile, and reaches to push out a chair. "Thank you."

Oh my goodness, puppy. Najla gets some ear-scritches, and Kurt settles in the chair.

"Bitte. What is troubling you?" Life is full of twists and turns as it is. It doesn't take much for an X-Man's life to resemble a Gordian knot. Kurt knows this very well indeed.

Part of Sooraya hopes that they are from different Earths, now, if only to hope that "his" world's Kevin hasn't gone the route her friend/former teammate did.
Cowardice or wishful thinking on her part, maybe: she won't yet ask.

She doesn't say anything, for a moment, then says quietly, "It's been a year since...I was thinking of Jay Guthrie, and--some other people.
A friend of mine here recently lost a family member of hers, and it
brought back some things." Truth, too. Just not all of it.

"Ah, Icarus. I understand." At least he thinks he does. "Time does not heal all wounds, I'm afraid. There will always be people whom we miss no matter when we think of them."
