Ben Gates is on his cell phone, backing into the door with a laughing “Well Patrick Henr-Riley?” as he steps through the threshold and the line goes dead. He snorts at the cell phone and pockets it (Riley's instituted a 'one historical reference per phone call' rule, which means their conversations tend to be short these days), turning around

"Welcome to Milliways, sir."

After a pause he continues "This bar just...appeared."
The man--boy--is clearly some sort of medieval reenactor, or just got back from some dress party. He's British, Ben's pretty sure.

The book is laid down and Will stands up to help the man adjust a bit more, his sword bumps against the chair slightly.

He waves his hand slightly, clearly growing more confused. "You're saying that you didn't get here through my front door?"

She blinks, then slips off her chair, feet cat-quiet on the floor.
"Hello."

Some sort of dancer, maybe? He's not entirely sure, but few people can move like that.

"You are new?"

However, Riley does.
Ben will, very shortly, find himself the recipient of an abrupt attack-by-hug; the kind that speaks of sudden relief and spontaneous gratitude, and that will be regretted in a moment.
For now, though, Ben's arms are pinned to his sides.
Suck it up and deal with it, Gates.

He tries, for a moment, to pat Riley's shoulder consolingly, but his arms are pretty much useless in this scenario.
"Why is there a bar in my house, Riley?"
And why is Riley in the bar in his house? Last Ben knew he was at his townhouse.

Riley sort of realizes, after a minute, what he's doing.
He glances up (he can't see much besides Ben's shoulder), and then he releases Ben, takes a rather lengthy, exaggerated step back, and brushes himself off. Casually. See Riley's casual.
Riley looks -- well, like Riley, looking shifty. He's wearing jeans, Chucks, a T-shirt and a track jacket, and his glasses, and there is a table nearby hosting a familiar battered laptop and a surface littered with sheets of notebook paper scrawled on in nearly illegible handwriting.
"Hey, Ben," he says (that's right: casually).
Beat.
"What's up?"

There's a moment where Ben takes in the scene at the nearby table.
"And you look like you're living here. In the bar. In my house. My day's great, and yours?"

[OOC: Let's invoke millitime and run Chloe and Riley threads simultaneously so we don't trip ourselves up?]

A flash of hurt crosses Chloe's face for a moment until she shrugs it off. There is, at least, one exclusive she can get.
"Okay. Milliways then. Please?"
Look at those eyes: she's begging.

Ben would say 'A friend of Riley's is a friend of mine' but he's not sre he wants to be friends with all of Riley's friends
For starters, most of them don't even know when the constitution was written
