It's been another long day. Another script idea was agreed upon by the assembled scriptwriters and supervisors. Another day in the life of Evelyn Faith Kendall passed, surrounded by hidden cameras and products produced by companies who were paying for the right to make her life comfortable. She was asleep now, all the cameras quietly projecting ( Read more... )

Well, he would recognize this one. Seahaven's and the world's lost son, long left the tv studio dome womb that was his home for 30 years.

He had been around, but traveling here and there. Glad to see the Bar back to his normal self, and currently writing up an entry in his copy of the Guide, so be easy to miss the arrival in the bar.

Very easy.

He raises his eyebrows, looking over at the very recognizable man.

"Truman?"

Truman whipped his head around suddenly at the mention of his name.

"Huh?" He then blinked, and tilted his head to the side, "...Hi?"

"You're Truman. I'm a big fan of yours," he says, smiling.

At least he seems like a sane fan.

Even still, that made him wary, and he felt inklings of the old paranoia creeping down his spine like ice.

"Hey, hey now, just take it easy. There's rules around here." There had been no one else from his world. He kept hoping Sylvia would walk in one day. But not some random fan.

"Pardon?" he says, raising his eyebrows. "I was just saying I enjoyed your show, though I am glad you got out."

Truman blinked at that, but then relaxed marginally.

"Oh... thanks. Glad I'm out too. Just glad you're not asking for a piece of me too."

He shakes his head. "Why would I?"

"I mean, I liked the show and all, but that's it."

"What is this place, though? While I kind of like the idea, there shouldn't be a bar right outside my office door."

Truman relaxed more at that.

"Oh, ok. Well, this is Milliways, the Bar and Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Sometimes doors happen to lead people here, it's really common."

"Really common? Surely I would have heard about a bar that kidnaps people... even if it does say that it is at the end of the universe."

"It doesn't kidnap people!" Truman sharply replied at that, briefly surprising himself, "Even being Bound's not so bad. Nothing like back there. Can always go anywhere else with others. And there's plenty to do around here. There's even an area out back, it's winter time now so it's cold with some snow on the ground."

"A white Christmas," he smiles. "That's nice."

"But what would you call a bar that appears and snatches people without warning?"

"It's really not like that. If you see the door, you can go back whenever you want. Heard something about time freezing while you're here. I've only seen it happen once. It's not out to get people. It's magic, and nice."

He glances at the door behind him. "Let me try it."

Adrian Doyle, unsure of what will happen, turns to face the closed door, standing straight.

He is very tall.

Gripping the doorknob with a hand, he turns it, and pulls.

It doesn't open.

For a moment, all color drains from his face. His eyes widen. He pulls at the door again, and again, even going so far as to brace his foot against the bottom of the door frame.

Oh. Look. It opened. It was just stuck. With the force of its opening, the door rebounds off the wall beyond it.

Impassive, Adrian looks back into his immaculate office, calming back down.

"Nice," he growls. "Hardly the word I would use."

Truman frowned worriedly at that, "It's usually pretty nice. That's kind of strange."

"It must not like me," he mutters. "Lucky me."

"What do I do if someone comes into my office and finds me not there? I could be here and they'd not be able to find me."
