She has been trying to ignore it all day, but the truth remains: today is Juri's 17th birthday... or would be back in her time and place in the world. Sitting at the bar, she stares blankly at a candle she has lit for herself. No cake. Such a thing would draw far too much attention to her. But as she stares into the flickering flame, she muses sardonically that perhaps this looks even more strange than if she did have an actual birthday cake to brood over.
Having your birthday outside your own world puts some things into an awkward perspective, and Juri can't help but think of Touga... Miki... and even Nanami and her horrendously frivolous parties. She misses school life terribly; misses the competition of the fencing team, even though she never lost to such amateurs... and even the duels.
But more than anything, she thinks of Shiori... and perhaps that is why a mixture of bitterness, anger, and sorrow can be seen in those teal eyes, strangely unguarded tonight of all nights.
[[ooc: This will be slowtimed... I nearly guarantee it. But I will post as much as I can with final exams looming in the near future. NOTE: Juri is being played mid-canon, so please consult me if you're puppet is from Shojo Kakumei Utena and you'd like to thread with her. I'm planning on getting her back to Ohtori and through her canon very soon, so it might be better to approach her once she's post-canon. ^_^]]
