Kara Thrace and Lee Adama come downstairs,
both looking wan and unhappy, their gym bags on their shoulders. Kara stops at the Bar and leaves a pile of notes, murmuring something under her breath and picking up what she got in return. She pats the Bar's surface and turns back to Lee. As they step back through the door, she hands him what she got from Bar. A crisp apple.
The Notes:
Dear Mike,
I've never really written an I'm going to die letter before and now I have a
pile. Someone from my future showed up and told me that when he is, I've
died. I figure it's better to go back and get it over with than let it hang over
our heads. I asked, but I guess you're not around, so I can't just talk to you.
You've been a great friend, maybe the best I've had, other than Lee and
maybe Karl. You're a great listener. I'll miss you. Lee's going to try and
come back here after I'm gone. Look after him, please. I'm doing
everything I can to make it easier for him, but he's not helping. Tell Raph
I'm sorry I didn't get to see him again before I left. Any money left in my
account should go under Lee's name and if he doesn't came back...give it to
Paradox Squad, ought to buy a round of drinks for the whole crew and
anything after that to Commander Adama, Lee's dad.
Mikey, this is the damn hardest thing I've ever had to do. I never thought I
would survive to find Earth and bright shiny futures are overrated anyway
and...I guess what I'm saying is it's been good. Keep a bottle of Ambrosia
under the bar for me.
Thanks.
Kara
Dear Officer Asshole,
Sorry I didn't get to see you again after that first wonderful night you threw
me in hack. Your brother says it's been rough for you and I wanted to
say...sorry. Look out for Mikey, he's got problems. And keep him away
from chocolate chip ice cream when he's horny.
Starbuck
Goldilocks,
Good hunting, nugget.
Kara Thrace
Corran,
Thanks for everything. I won't be back. It frakking sucks when your future
shows up and you're not in it.
Good hunting,
Kara Thrace
Sheppard and McKay,
Thanks for the Star Wars. Never took you up on the hockey and I wanted
to. I won't be back, so...thanks.
Kara Thrace
General Antilles,
Sir, I've thought a lot about what you said, and I think you were right.
Sending people into battle assuming they're already dead doesn't make
people less afraid, just more stupid. It would have been an honour to fly
with you. Have a glass of Whyren's on me and try out the Viper sims. Our
birds really are that much better than yours.
Kara Thrace
Plourr,
We never really got to talk. I'm going back to Galactica. I'm gonna die
there. Next time around.
Kara Thrace
Wes,
Never got to do much with Paradox Squad. Sorry about that. Good luck
wrangling the pilots, try 'em on the Viper sims.
Kara Thrace
Dear Archie,
It's I Me and Lee are heading back to
Galactica. I've talked to some people and it's pretty likely that I'm going to,
you know, die this time around. If I make it back here after, I'll buy you a
beer and we can sit and talk about what it's like to be dead. If not...Good
luck. My best to your wife and daughter.
Thanks for everything.
Kara Thrace.
(ooc: If anyone wants to catch Lee and Kara before they go, ping one of the muns (dramaturgeca or sparklegirl6979). They'll be gone for the forseeable future, working their way through some very unpleasant canon.)
