Quinn's gathered up his handful of things from the Bar in general, and requested some writing paper and a pen. He's going to head home tonight, and he's got a very real feeling that it'll be for the last time. There are people he owes messages to. Veronica, Hero, Merriman Lyon, Naraht, Moiraine, others- all of them. He could've done the notes

*Here's someone happening by.*

Oh hey -- it's Quinn, right? Long time no see.

Quinn glances up from his notes, then smiles. "Hallo, Andrew," he says. "It really has been, hasn't it? How've you been?"

Okay, pretty much. How about you?

*It was months ago, but he vaguely remembers that Quinn was having trouble at home. Trouble beyond the whole post-apocalypse-with-dragons thing.*

"Better," says Quinn. "Much better. It's been nearly a month since our last dragon attack, for one thing."

Pause.

"How long's it been since we last spoke? I've been out of the Bar a good year now."

Oh, uh -- months, I think, by my time. At least.

And no dragon attacks is good!

"It sure is," agrees Quinn. "Especially since the London male is dead."

[stilljustandrew]

-- that's what you were telling me about last time. I was trying to remember.

Did the Americans manage to kill it after all?

[twoeyesonthesky]

"Nah, they went off to London and half of 'em got killed on the road," Quinn says. "We'd've been dead a few days after if I hadn't found someone here to lend a hand." He smiles. "D'you know a big red-and-blue metal fellow by the name of Optimus Prime?"

*Andrew starts to grin.*

I, uh ... know him by reputation.

[twoeyesonthesky]

"Yeah? Well, it was him," Quinn says. "He and one of his people came to my world in time to take down the male before it could hit the castle. Most incredible thing I've ever seen."

Wow. Wish I could've seen that.

So -- the male's dead, does that mean there aren't going to be any more born?

[twoeyesonthesky]

"Well, there's a couple of other males in the world, but the surviving Americans've gone off to hunt them properly," says Quinn. "We're not seeing young ones any more at the castle, though, for what that's worth."

That's worth a lot. If it keeps up.

If the dragon attacks really stop, you might even be able to find out if there's more people holed up anywhere. If there's you and there's the Americans, there could be more.

"That's what I'm hoping," says Quinn. "Especially since we've started to see that we really are Suzi's world, all the way int he past. D'you know Suzi Darley at all?"

[stilljustandrew]

Not really -- my friend Jonathan does, though. She's the one with the ...?

*Andrew makes a wiggly gesture with his hands to indicate tentacles.*

"Yeah, that's her," Quinn says. "She got shoved into our world about six months back. Turned up at the castle gates screaming her head off and looking like she'd been through hell, and she had a couple of other people with her. The morning after she got there, we had one of our girls go through Changeover- she's got tentacles too, now. And there's been some others, too, since then."
