After he was kicked out of the attic by Sarah Jane and Mr. Smith for being distracting when she had an article to finish, Luke went searching for a comfortable, quiet place to read his book (Flatland, Edwin Abbott Abbott).
What he finds is... something more than he was looking for.
Enter one Luke Smith, looking with some understandable confusion at what should've been the living room. He's read about... pocket dimensions and things. It's not really all that impossible for him to have found one, is it?
He turns to alert his Mum and Mr. Smith to the presence of a bar in the living room and finds the door already closed behind him. He opens it, just to be sure he can, and, after a moment's thought, digs into his pocket for a pen and paper to write Sarah Jane a note, just in case. If he doesn't come back, he wants her to know where he's gone.
The necessary precautions taken care of, he faces the bar before him. Welcome to Milliways, Luke.
