Once a long time ago, when Tom first came to Milliways, Bar would only give him lukewarm tea and not the finest quality of scotch. However, that time is long past, Bar gives him the best, and Tom is quite fond of both her and the people who tend her ( Read more... )

Yrael has respect for Specials themes, especially when they're green.

He frowns a moment as he ruffles through one of the bar guides. "Aha. Yes, I can do that. I'll have to do it the hard way, though - I don't have a charm for that mix."

He sets to.

"How've you been?"

"I aim to make your life difficult, you know that, Tom," he grins, taking a seat at the bar.

"I've been pretty well. Some ups, some downs. Uppish right now."

"Not difficult. Merely- challenging. I never shirk from challenges."

Except perhaps with keeping his books off the floor. He finishes mixing the drink and hands it to Yrael.

"There you are. How has your heart project come along?"

"Thanks," he says as he takes the brilliantly green drink the color of his eyes. "The project is going well. We're almost done. I have all the information I need, I think, with only translating it into the spell to make it complete."

"Maybe another month, at most."

"You're welcome to come and watch when it's done, if you want," Yrael grins, sipping his drink.

"We'll probably be out by the lake."

"No, not every day," he chuckles. "Not after how much work goes into making it belong to one specific person. And Axel's not exactly ordinary. I'm having to ask Hephaestos for help imbuing the heart with fire as it's made, so Axel's elevated temperature won't just burn it up."

He smirks. "Yeah, I know, right? I shouldn't be able to get in trouble because I never get caught."

He tends to be rather proud of that.

"The problem was, I hadn't actually done anything to get in trouble for. Not really," he gestures with a hand about the idiocy of some people. "I go outside and into the forest so I can be in my true form without hurting anyone or anything, being thoughtful, I felt. This kid who doesn't like me making a heart for Axel comes and seeks me out so he can poke at me and make smart remarks."
