This isn't the first time Shaun's seen a kid at Milliways, but the ones he's met have usually had adults with them.

"You alright, kid?"

Ned is a little awed, taking in his new surroundings with a mixture of trepidation and curiosity.

"I'm new here."

With just a hint of obvious.

He manages a bit of a smile.

"Guessed as much. Most people don't expect to wander in here."

"Where is...here, mister?"

Digby would like to know too, as he's now moved closer to Shaun and found a comfortable spot between Ned and the man.

"Milliways. It's a pub at the end of the universe."

"My name is Ned. This is Digby."

Digby woofs appropriately on cue.

"Milliways is a funny name. What do you do here?"

The word 'pub' doesn't parse for possibly-American nine year olds.

"Well, the bar'll give you food and drinks if you want anything. And there's rooms upstairs if you get tired."

He looks down at the dog. Cute.

"There's also a lake out back, but the weather's a bit chilly."

It's hardly ever cold in Coeurs d'Coeurs, as evidenced by Ned's short sleeved shirt and light clothing.

"I guess I should wait to go outside, then."

Digby looks disappointed at this, but doesn't comment.

"Yeah."

This doesn't leave him with much else to say, unfortunately. There's not a lot for a solitary kid (and his dog) to do inside.

"Hey, you want anything to eat? First order's free."
