[oom: Inari returns back through her door to the distruction the Onin Wars has brought to Fushimi, Kyoto. Her pack is formed and the hunt begins though a complication is met upon the trail

It is the sound of the battle that catches Ryoko's attention. Her perch in the rafters gives her a good view of the Door, even if what's behind it isn't very clear. Whatever it is sends a chill through her.
Moments later Ryoko is beside Inari. "What the hell were you fighting?" Something about whatever they were lingers.
A fist pounds against the wall with soft curses in Japanese coming from the generally well spoken kami's mouth. When Ryoko is suddenly at her side a dagger appears out of nowhere ready to strike for the suddeness of her actions. When a thought passes through her mind of who the other woman is the dagger is lowered. "Spider oni. Kazuichi."
Grunting she sets back with her feet against the wall trying to push hoping to find a way through to get back to her world. "Something isn't right- I have to get back to my pack!"
The dagger shouldn't be a surprise. She should have thought better than to approach someone in the middle of a battle-rage. Still, Ryoko's relieved that the kami remembers in time.
"The door can't be forced, you'll just hurt yourself trying," she eyes the blood and mess on Inari, "or hurt yourself worse."
Still the kami pushes on the wall with her feet. "It is not mine." For the most part. "But that of one of Kazuichi's legs."
A small victory until he tossed her like a ragdoll into the Bar. From the back of her throat a growl manages before she throws the dagger at the wall causing the blade to sing in a song that warriors would know best before it thunks into the wood. A reminder of what has to be done in the village.
"It is not right. The Bar has never done this to me before."
Ryoko laughs a bit bitterly. "The Bar or Landlord or whatever has some strange ideas of their own." Too many instances of abuse of power lately, intentional or otherwise.
Practicality has a place, though. "Giving you more time to prepare for a battle is probably not meant to be an inconvenience, though. Weren't you looking for help for this fight?"
Finally stopping the kami just frowns at the wall that is just as pointed as the dagger that sticks out of it. "I was...I am.." With a pause she frowned even more at the wall. "I feared for those that wanted to go. Perhaps the bar is teaching me a lesson in humility or trust."
Inari's head tilts to the right a little before over to Ryoko. "I have prepaired and calculated most every possability. This was an unseen thread."
"Wouldn't have volunteered if we weren't prepared for the risks," Ryoko admonishes firmly.
"And thinking you've prepared for everything only sets you up for a nasty surprise." She smiles to try and take the sting out of her comment. Inari didn't look like she needed a scolding right now. "But you're here now, and when you go back, you'll have back-up, right?"
Sting or not it was there and if the kitsune had ears no doubt they'd be pressed flat to her head. Her shoulders even slump alittle as she tries to will the door back. "Yes."
Looking back to Ryoko again she sighs, pulling her feet again to sit Indian style on the floor of the bar. "I do not know how many..no doubt all but Kanshido will be surprised."
"Surprised but able to fight, right?" She's already thinking about hopping directly into a hard and heavy battle. If it's a rescue mission, it will be different.
"Do you know if these spiders are vulnerable to anything specific?"
"Kanshido was here before when we were both little. He will still be able to fight." And possibly be mad at the kami, but that is something she can deal with when the time comes.
"Fire, swords, arrows, daggers..Kazuichi will be the hardest of all to take down. Their webbing is like razor wire..do not get tangled in it."
"Good!" This covers both having fighters on that side already, and the idea that normal weapons can hurt the spider oni. If steel will do the job, then Ryoko's own energy weapons will be useful; at least on corporeal creatures.
"The webbing sounds nasty, but we'll manage. I think you ought to get cleaned up and rest a bit, then we can all get together and plan properly, right?" Ryoko offers the kami a hand up, whether she accepts it or not is up to her.
The hand is accepted though she also uses her other hand to help get it. Even in the armor she is still light weight just a little rumpled. "Once things are settled I shall call those together who have agreed to go. I must inform you all upon the situation and who is already out there."
When she stands droplets of blood fall to the floor making soft splatting noises. The wound on her side burns but it has been doing that for months now and the pain is pushed aside. "I fear this may only be the first stream in a flood."
