[OOC:
In Loki's Room - this is both emotionally, sexually, and verbally violent. Please be warned.]
David fucks with Millitime and enters the bar again. He chooses a booth in the dark corner, and sits with his knees drawn up to his chest, eyes blank, staring into nothingness.
He is the broken shell of a man.
"David? David, are you okay?"
He reaches out a hand to touch the other man and when finger meets shoulder, he almost freezes where he is.
"David...David, it's Nick. David?"
Reply
He doesn't turn to face him.
"Hi, Nick."
His voice is quiet, soft and misty.
And he's rocking himself. Gently.

"David...David...are you all right? What...what do you need? Is there anything I can do, David? Anything at all? I could...I could get you some more of those cookies you like...if you like. I think I might have another bag in my pocket, okay? Would that...would that help?"
Reply
"Cookies would be nice," he whispers into Nick's arms, voice shaking, body wracked with silent sobs.
Reply
"David...here you go. Here are some cookies. Now...is there anything else you want? You could...you could talk, or I could tell you...I could tell you a story about something, if you like. Whatever you want, David. I'm...here, okay? I'm not going anywhere..."
It takes a great deal of willpower to keep the concern on the forefront of his mind and not let the anger out. He wanted to find whoever had done this. He wanted to find whoever had done this and Talk to them. It had a capital letter...like the Jaws of Life or Unfortunate Accident or even Unimaginable Terror. But the most important thing was David...so he stayed. And he hugged. And he waited.

Something happened last night. And I'm not quite sure what it was.
He's also rather amazed at how calm his inner monologue is, when all he wants to do is cry.
Reply
"Don't...don't choke on them, David. That...that won't help. Now...would you like some water?"
He nods down to a rat, which brings a glass of water quicker than expected. Nick uses his gift to lift the water to his hand so that he doesn't have to let go of David.
"Would you like some water to wash them down with, David? Would that be good? It might help, you know. Water...is good for you. David. David."
Oh yes, Nick is definitely in protective mode...and he is definitely going to make someone pay for this. He doens't care who it is...they're going to pay for this.
But not right now.
"You can...you can cry, David. I'll be here. I'm not going anywhere. Just...let it out a little...just a little. However much you want to. Don't keep it inside. If you keep it inside, it just rots you...it festers. Please, David...let me help..."
Reply
David takes the cup of water and swallows half of it in one gulp, cookies going down easily.
And there are tears on his cheeks.

His arms close a little bit tighter and Nick is almost a shield over David, keeping the rest of the world out.
"David...David. I'm here. I'm here...and I know and I'm still here. I'm still here, David, and I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere...and you can count on me. You...are loved. You are loved by your friends...and I am one who loves you as well, David. I'm here...I'm not going anywhere. Whatever you need, David...whatever you need."
And there is one angel that is going to get Spoken To. And Nick is prepared to be Nick about it...which is just about as dangerous as being Meg about it, but much more violent.

He's quiet, still shaking and rocking against Nick's hug, but his arms come up and around him, too, holding him close.
His eyes are older than ever. His body has all the seeming of a 19-year old, vulnerable and betrayed.

"It did...but it doesn't have to be everything. You're...more than this, David. You're much more. And what he did...was wrong. And it wasn't your fault. And you are a...a victim. No matter who he is to you...you're a victim. But...even that isn't all. You're more than that, David. You're...you're strong. You're stronger than you realize, much stronger. And you've got people with you...people who won't leave you...people that will help you keep going...even though it did happen."
He sighs and presses his lips into the side of David's head, into his hair. It is the furthest thing from sexual it could ever be. This is about comfort.
"David, I'm here. I'm here, David, and I'm not going anywhere and we'll deal with this, all right? Nothing else is going to happen to you, David. It's not going to happen to you. We'll work it out. We'll...fix it as much as we can, okay? I'm here, David...I'm here."

"Thank you..."
Comfort is nice. Comfort is safe, and David is safe, and he knows no one can harm him here.
