Atton is out back, shoes and shirt discarded at the bottom of a nearby tree, punching the remains of a man made of straw and wood and punching bags. It wasn't a particularly realistic man to start with, and by now it's so mangled that it doesn't really look that much like a human

Atton beating things up is not a reassuring sight to Will and so he stops and watches for a while before saying anything,

"Atton, what's got ye so mad?"

[stuck_mynock]

"Huh? Nothing. Just felt like beating something up, 's all." He grins in Will's direction. "Hey, Will."

[will_scarlett]

That gets a grin from Will, he knows that feeling really well,

"Oh aye, looks like ye found somethin' then. An I met ye when ye were a lad 'bout twelve or so yesterday."

If Atton had a drink, he'd be choking on it.
"Er ... right. How'd that go?"

Will was kind of hoping if he said it fast enough, Atton wouldn't hear it, that didn't work,

"Well 'nough, ye were a cute lad though sounds like some folks round ye were rather 'orrible."

[stuck_mynock]

"They weren't. Just being truthful."

[will_scarlett]

"That ye were a bad omen when ye were naught but a young lad?"

[stuck_mynock]

"My people were just like that. They weren't as advanced as the rest of the galaxy. The kid with the offworlder father, with the weird powers and the weird eyes, born just before a cold season set in, when there were already a lot of omens? Whether they were right or wrong, y'can't really blame them for thinking that." Atton shrugs. It's a little tense, and the words are a little forced.

Atton gets a long look from Will, "But ye believed 'em an that's na right to do to ye, Atton."

[stuck_mynock]

"I still believe them. They were right - The world did end after all." Atton points out.

[will_scarlett]

"Oh aye an 'ow did ye make it end?"

[stuck_mynock]

Curse Will and his crazy logic.

"That's not the point and you know it."

[will_scarlett]

"Aye an what is the point, Atton? Sounds like ye didna cause an ye couldna stopped it so its na yer fault."

[stuck_mynock]

"Yeah, well. Should've been able to."

[will_scarlett]

"'ow old were ye, Atton?"

If Atton keeps this up, he's going to be dealing with an angry Will, its already clear in how Will has changed his stance.

"I don't know. Twelve? Thirteen?" It's totally reasonable for Atton to expect himself to have stopped an invasion on his own as the age of twelve! Really!
