Jack's either forgotten what day it's likely to be, or he's hoping that he's missed it; as either way, when he walks in he's looking rather worried, though there's a grin that keeps slipping onto his face momentarily.

That doesn't last very long.  Only until he realizes he's suddenly wearing a lot more clothing than he'd put on that morning.

"You're not Obi-Wan!" Chris cries, the disappointment evident in her voice.

Jack turns to see Chris with what looks like two cinnamon buns on her head. "Hello to you too, sweetheart," he says, giving her a kiss. "Who are you supposed to be?"

"I thought I was Princess Leia but looking at my outfit again, I'm pretty sure I'm one of Queen Amidala's handmaidens. Which seemed odd until I saw Michelle."

Chris = Geek.

She tilts her head to look at him. "Who are you supposed to be?"

"I'm not sure I'm supposed to be anyone in particular; just someone from outside our time, I guess. How was work?" he asks, gesturing to a table if she wants to take a seat.

On the one hand, she thinks Jack got off way too easily. On the other hand, at least she doesn't have to wear a corset this time again.

"It was pretty good," she answers brightly, taking a seat.

Actually, it was a long day filled with tedious work and dead ends. But she was still on her "just engaged" high so none of it phased her.

"How was your day?"

"All right. Busy, but I got a fair bit done, even if I was a little distracted," he says, grinning.

She rests her chin on her hand and smiles at him. "And what were you distracted by?"

"A certain brunette I know," he says, teasing.

Chris gave him a wide-eyed look. "Michelle?"

"Exactly," he says, eyes twinkling, "I just can't stop thinking about her."

Chris sticks her tongue out at him because, really, it's the best response she can think of at the moment.

Jack grins. "You know what I love about you? Your maturity."

Smirking she says, "And I love your sparkling wit best."

"What, not my natural charm?" he asks.

[geeky_agent]

"Oh, yeah, that too," she says rather unconvincingly, smiling at him.

"Thanks for the compliment, sweetheart," he says, wryly. "Has anyone at work noticed the ring yet?"
