Kaplan was infected and the cure was right there in reach. The last thing she needed was for him to die again. There was only so much of that she could handle. Too much had gone on in her life for her to lose someone else. Everyone you care about dies. It ran through her head so many times. Mainly because a lot of it were true. Way too much of it ( Read more... )

Medusa had been flying - sun hits the mountains, and there are thermals, and there is nothing quite like hitting a thermal and coasting up and up and up into a spiral.

Of course, the sun had hit the gold of her wings and made them shine and glint, but Medusa never had been made for stealth.

But she has never heard a gun before, and despite herself flies closer.

(and she's wearing those shades of Mel's, so everything is tinted red, red, red - even Alica)

More shots rang out but it was the sun hitting the gold on wings... the glinting that caught Alice's attention. Not much normally did but this... was different. Not different in the respect that, well, whoever or whatever that was, was different. No, she'd seen weirder things. Okay, Lickers and t-virus infected people...

Maybe not this weird. But she does give a nod to whoever... or whatever that was before those eyes go back to their targets.

Medusa lands - a little woman, despite the wings. A pretty woman, in spite of the twisting black snakes she has for hair.

"What kind of weapon is that?" She asks after a moment.

The honey blonde watches the woman for a moment, taking in her features. The hair... her beauty... and even though most would probably be phased by the black snakes the woman has for hair, she's not. Not after having someone she'd been close to mutated into a monster.

"They're guns. Berettas to be exact."

"I always thought you were a pretty good shot," Chad says softly, a little frown across his face as he sees just the specific areas some of the targets have been shot at. It's something he's slowly coming to terms with. "Proved that down in the access tunnels."

He's not dressed in his uniform anymore thanks to Bar. Kap's hands are cramed down into the pockets of a zipup hoodie though the sleeves are pushed up. It's nice out even if it is cold. "Will Scarlett told me they had a target range out here- can you believe it? The Will Scarlett out of the stories.."

Normally someone walking up from behind her would've startled her enough to either turn and shoot them or turn and point her guns at them. Neither is the case when it comes to Kaplan. She knows his voice. Has known it for quite some time.

"I proved quite a bit while we were there. Even without my memories." It was worse when her memories came back. When she knew what the hell was going on. Or some of what was going on. "You'll find a lot of that happens here. After all, since being here I got married." Something no one knew.

And it was fake like that Spencer crap.

Kap blinks a few times- he knew about the cover story with Spencer since it had been part of their briefing before entering into the Hive. But..she got married here? Deep down a hope that his fience may show up sits at the bottom of his stomach. That was enough to make his already heavy head feel like exploding. Alice was a pretty woman but he was still trying to get used to the whole 'time and space' differences. "Congrats. I'll have to shake the hand of the lucky man."

"I remember. You didn't show an ounce of fear down there even when things got really rough." Unlike him- and the slightly sheepish smile that crosses his face proves just how much he remembers though it's soon interrupted by a cough.

"I doubt Cable can get back here. Last we checked the door from his world wasn't coming back. But I can always take you to meet him. Place allows you to go to other worlds with people." Luckily this wasn't any cover story. And thanks to the rules if Spencer ever did show up she couldn't shoot the bastard. Even though every ounce of her would want to.

"Fear wasn't something we had time for. Then again it takes a lot to scare me." Though when the coughing starts she holsters her guns and she's by him in an instant, arm wrapped around him. "It's starting to get bad isn't it?" He knew what she was talking about. After all, the T-virus ran through her veins.
