It's a good day as far as Belar is concerned. His Alorns are doing well, but his Mongols are doing better. And this one clan of Dorbed herders, who've got a kid who's going to be on the 2012 Olympic team if at all humanly possible? They just had a family head name one of his kids after Belar. He's thrilled. To the point of forgetting to not glow ( ( Read more... )

"How do you do that?" asks a young boy from the table next to him. He's crossing his arms over the table, blinking curiously at the glowing. "D'you have magic?"

Belar glances over at the source of the voice and grins. "It's kind of an extension of the Will," he says. "Where I come from, 'magic' is a real specific term people use for summoning and controlling things. But, yeah, it's sort of along those lines." The light winks out. "Sorry about that. My name's Belar."

Aww. He rather liked the glowing.

"I'm James Sirius Potter," he returns. "So you're not a wizard, then?"

"Nah. I'm one of my world's gods," says Belar. "Although we've got wizards. Mostly in Dalasia. Nice folks, and a lot easier to talk to than the seers. It's a pleasure to meet you, James, a real pleasure. You're a wizard yourself?"

Remembering her promise to recount her Bahamut exploits to him, Goldy settles into a seat at Belar's table. She has a large mug of coffee and a short plaster cast on her left arm. Somewhat out of keeping with her personality, the cast is decorated with a pretty array of green Sharpie flowers and bunnies.

"You look positively radiant today," she comments, smirking.

Clearly, she was mugged by high schoolers.

"Why, thank you," says Belar with a grin of his own. "Got some good news from Mongolia. They decided 'Belar' is as good as pretty much any other central Asian name, so they're giving it to some of their kids now. How've you been?"

{OOC: And if Indy happens to be around, Ray left a note at the Bar for him the other night.}

"Well, congratulations," she says brightly.

"I've been good. We just got back from that little combat expedition to Makita's world I was telling you about the other week. Mission successful. With no casualties on our side to speak of." She nods at her healing arm. "Just a few incidental war wounds."

"Thank you. I'm real pleased with it."

He nods, and looks at the arm. "That looks like it stung. How'd you get that one, anyway?"
