[OOM: Hastings, England, early summer 1940 -- During a murder investigation, Sam has a run in with a local MP. It's a good thing he's not looking for her vote.]

Really, it isn't every day that Sam gets to be impertinent to a politician. But even though Mr Foyle had been able to put a stop to Sir Ernest's attempt to commandeer his car and driver, the whole incident had left her unsettled and upset...especially from the bits and pieces of information she'd managed to pick up from Mr Foyle during the drive back to Hastings.

A murder investigation involving possible Nazi sympathisers. One of them an MP, one of them a woman working in the Foreign Office. Even Sam can see where that sort of thing leads.

At the moment, she's staring moodily into her cup of tea. At this rate, she may have to spend the last few pence in her pocket and get a second cup.
