Will's carrying around his map and various papers, he should be happy since people are offering to help but its just worrying him more.

So he nods to Malcolm after getting a mulled wine at the Bar, need something warm and hopeful since he just doesn't know if this will work or if he's just leading good people from Milliways into trouble.

It doesn't take Malcolm long to pick up on Will's mood.

"Lot on your mind tonight?" he asks in a voice that's perfectly casual but isn't really.

"Aye, sir, gettin' ready for the tax, some folks from 'ere 'ave offered to 'elp."

That should be a good thing, but Will's just worried, the price for helping Robin is high.

"The sheriff can't be expecting help like that, at least," Malcolm replies with the slightest of smiles.

Draco stopped by. Alhena was upstairs snoozing on the bed, and Mia was around. Possibly still sparring.

"Er...are you busy?" The wizard stared some of the items, and he picked up one of the glowing statues. "This looks familiar. Thought I saw it on display in a Hogsmeade store once."

"Ohhhh," Malcolm says. "So these are from your world."

"Makes sense, I guess." From his tone, it's not at all clear it does make sense, but Malcolm is giving it a try.

Malcolm gazes one more time at what looks like a bunch of pocket fluff with a smell like garlic, and then turns to Draco.

"No, safe to say I'm definitely not."

"Maybe, it's been a while. Some of the shops have closed since then." A shadow over his face at that as he sit down.

"So how exactly does this work again?"

"A lot of that is up to you. In a very real sense, you're in charge." Malcolm putting it that way is, of course, no accident.

"The usual approach is to start by talking about how you feel about things right now. And then we'll take it from there. It's usually best to ease into this sort of thing gradually."

There's a thankfully now-human Jack walking into the bar, and on spotting Malcolm, he heads over.

"Hey, Malcolm. How're your trip preparations going?"

Malcolm zips up the Dopp pack and slips it into a bag slung over his shoulder. He's wearing the trench coat he came into the bar with. He'd forgotten how much he's missed wearing it.

He grins. "All set!"

This is so overdue.

"Great. Want to head out now, then?" Jack asks. "I'm not sure you're going to need the coat, though."

"Oh, uhh--. Yeah. Guess you're right."

A wry smile. He supposes Southern Cali probably doesn't see that many trench coats. Malcolm slips out of it with some regret and asks Bar to send it back up to his room. It vanishes a moment later. Malcolm slips the shoulder bag back on.

"OK. Now I'm ready."
