It came from the left.
She approaches Peter from the right, crouching comfortably just inside his range of vision.
She is watching him, steady and intent.
Some may think that to be her favorite pastime.

He can't actually see the ground very well from up here, in the fading light. But he can't think of anybody else who'd think that was a great way to greet him.
