It's been a while since he's seen this man. Deitmar considers. There was something about a holiday?

From the looks of him, that's long been over. He nods once in greeting.

Cooper barely notices. He's heading straight for the bar, ordering a pint or four, and not thinking about anything big.

"Evening." He normally wouldn't ask it, but look at the man. "What happened now?"

"I was dead for a while."

He blinks and--

"And you almost broke someone's wrist."

[hatchingviper]

"Oh." Deitmar considers this, carefully. "What happened?

That gets rather more of a pause, at least two seconds. "No, I didn't."

He goes back through his memories, the ones that were hazy and--

"No," he corrects. "The hand. Right?"

[hatchingviper]

"That was you?" Deitmar considers. "Hm. That kind of dead. How did you get back?"

If you don't know what to say, dodge the question.

"Obviously."

But that doesn't work when someone looks at you, doesn't answer your question, and waits for an answer.

He could walk away.

Spoon knows a little already, and the man probably saw his face.

"Yes."

[krazyglusurgeon]

"You going to answer the question?"

After Brennan's diversions and him falling into soggy Isle-of-Man sheep hell, he's not letting people get away.

"I just did," Deitmar says, in the same tone. "Yes."

[krazyglusurgeon]

"That's not much of an answer," but he puts up his hands as if to say fine, whatever.

[hatchingviper]

"What do you want?" He shows a tiny bit of irritation. "I was shot through the neck."

[krazyglusurgeon]

He blinks.

"When in hell did that happen?"

[hatchingviper]

"After you went on vacation. I went home."

[krazyglusurgeon]

He winces.

"You dead now?"
