So.
Jayne's got himself an actual date to a wedding.
It's safe to say that this is a new and unprecedented thing, and Jayne is pondering it, brow furrowed, over a glass of tequila. Which does help with the pondering, somewhat.

"There's not something wrong with the tequila, is there?"
Never hurts to ask around here.

"What, you hear there was?"

Beat.
"I'll test it, if you want."
Not like it can kill her.

"Ain't killed me so far," Jayne says, and pulls his tequila glass closer. He's not getting talked out of his liquor that easy!
"I been drinkin'. Man's got a right to savor his drink, don't he?"

Damn. He's seen through her clever booze-snatching scheme.

"You too, huh?"

She takes another sip of tequila. "How do you know the happy couple?"

Lilly's got a point. It does seem like everyone around the bar's hitched, these days - not that that necessarily means anything. Saffron, after all, is maybe the most married person in the 'verse.
With a leer: "Now, you takin' your better half to the wedding, or are you hopin' t'leave him far behind?"
Reply
"Given that he's away on business last I checked? Afraid I may have to go this one alone."

"Can't say he's always a smart man."

. . . look, Jayne told Lilly that if she hit on any groomsmen he'd be looking out for his own prospects. He's just scouting out in case, is all.
