She may or may not be reassured by the uniformed boy who approaches her, carefully.

"Hello", he offers.

. . . Definitely not.

They're almost a hundred years off from each other, though she doesn't know that -- but a uniform is a uniform, and men in uniforms take a dim view of her activities.

Reaching up to pull her cap lower over her eyes, she steps back and mumbles, "Sorry, sir -- didn't mean to--"

He blinks.

"Didn't mean to what? You didn't do anything."

She shoots him a suspicious look from under the brim of her hat. "Barge in, like."

James shrugs. "It's not my place. I only came here today."

[cant_kim]

That earns a frown, and a more assessing look. He doesn't seem about to call the constables, or his superiors.

Cautious -- "What is this place, then?"

"It's called Milliways, they said", he informs her. "It's a magic place."

"Magic? What, like the Royal College?"

[scourgeofpiracy]

And that distracts him quite effectively.

"You've got a college of magic where you come from?"

She eyes him.

"The Royal College of Wizards. Everyone knows that."

[scourgeofpiracy]

"Not where I'm from", he retorts. "Nobody thinks magic's real, there."

[cant_kim]

"What do you mean, where you're from?"

[scourgeofpiracy]

"Well, it can't be where you're from, can it? Seeing as I've never heard of the Royal College of Wizards."

[cant_kim]

That's logical enough. It doesn't make sense, but it's logical.

"Where are you from, then?"

[scourgeofpiracy]

"Hampshire. But I'm going to Jamaica and I don't have to ever live in England again if I don't want to."

She blinks. "Do you not want to?"
