Okay, it's a bit late. But they've never done this before. Sometime in the afternoon, Miniver and Guppy clear out a space for a circle of chairs. There are signs up, and a table with coffee and tea and various snacks provided by the rats.

Eventually, a man in a gray suit wanders by, waving to those he recognizes. "Truman. YT." Addressed to anyone who'd like to answer: "I assume the support is emotional?"

"It is. Welcome. Would you care to join us?"

[md_donighal]

"I certainly would. I don't need it so much right now, but there've been times in my life when it would have come in handy, and there're likely to be such times again." He takes a seat. "I'm Michael, by the way. Michael Donighal."

[cheevy]

"Miniver Cheevy. And that's Guppy, if you don't know him." Miniver nods to Guppy, who is speaking to someone else for the moment. "I'm from New York, 1967. You?"

[md_donighal]

"...at the moment, I'm commuting here from Paragon City, Rhode Island, circa 2007. It's not on the Earth where I was born, though."

[cheevy]

"Really? How'd you manage that?"

[md_donighal]

"An accidental detour through space and time, over a century backwards and probably a good many parayears sideways."

[cheevy]

"Hey, sweet. So you're from the future. What d'you do now?"

[md_donighal]

"I'm back in the superhero business - well, I say 'back' although I was only a pulp hero before - after a number of years on the wrong side of the law, or really outside it or possibly even above it."

Headtilt.

"What... like... Superman?"

[md_donighal]

"A little. More like Doc Savage, in my original career as Dr. Primoris - in fact, I beat him to the doctoral codename by about a decade. Currently, I'm a little more like the Human Torch, whichever Human Torch you prefer. As a villain, I called myself Divis Mal and was kind of like Magneto, if you've heard of him which you at least have a chance of having done."

That gets... a lot of confused blinking.

"So then... yes?" Miniver didn't really read comic books. "You fight crime and stuff?"

[md_donighal]

"These days, yeah. I figure my karma ought to be balanced in another century or so."

[cheevy]

Headtilt. "The old shadowed past?" he asks.

[md_donighal]

"Shadowed, scorched, reduced to extremely small particles... something like that. In the 1967 I lived through, I was in a meditative cocoon, contemplating a plan to give human evolution a jump-start similar to the one that gave me and my contemporaries our powers."

"And something stopped you, clearly."
