Amy's smile, as she comes into the bar this evening, is radiant, but it's not directed at the bar in general. It is, instead, focused on the very small person in her arms

Logan stops and stares.

It's a new person! A new, very small person, one he can't wait to meet.

"Hey, Amy," he says, walking over. "Who's your new friend here?"

[kitchen_maid]

Amy looks up from the baby to Logan, smile still very bright.

"Hello, Logan. This is Merriman. Merry."

The baby in her arms blinks at him.

"Hi there," Logan says, smiling at the blinking baby. "Amy, he's - he's seriously, ridiculously cute."

Merry smiles back.

"He is, isn't he? He has Perry's hair."

[parkerlee]

Parker smiles as she catches sight of the first person she ever met in Milliways.

The smile broadens to a grin when she sees what she's holding.

"Amy, hi! You had your baby."

Can the girl state the obvious or what?

"Good evening, Parker. This is Merry. Well, Merriman, but Merry."

The baby blinks at her, then yawns.

Its the yawn that completely undoes Parker.

"Oh my God, Amy. He's the most adorable thing I've ever seen."

She grins.

"Elder siblings aside, of course."

[kitchen_maid]

It is a very cute yawn.

Amy smiles back. "He has his father's hair," she says.

"Would you like to hold him?"

"Amy!"

It's Mal, a face Amy's not seen for quite awhile. He enters the bar and approaches, slowing minutely when he sees Amy's baby.

"Wèi."

[kitchen_maid]

Amy's been watching for him for a while now.

"Mal," she says. "I've not seen you for a while. Is everything all right?"

That's queen-talk for Where the hell have you been?

"Sort o' got involved in other folks' business -- Jack Sparrow's 'verse and all. What's the news? Besides the new arrival o' course."

There's no reason for Mal to not be happy for the young mother. He waves at the child; the blinking continues at Mal's direction now.

It's about as much as Mal expected.

It's about all you get from a one-month old.

"I'm sorry, I should have introduced you," says Amy. "This is Merriman--Merry."

She gives him a slightly careful look.

"Mal, how long have you been gone?"

Ingress just so happens to be in for a milkshake. She squeals and runs to Amy.

"HI!!!!"

"Hello, Ingress dear," says Amy. "There's someone I want you to meet. This is Merry."

The baby blinks at Ingress.

"Mary? Susan has a sister!"

It's a little tricky to tell boy babies from girl babies. Especially when the names aren't written down to compare.

"A brother, actually," says Amy. "'Merry' is short for 'Merriman,' just like 'Amy' is short for 'Amethyst,'" she adds, for clarification.
