"Um, yeah, I need newspapers. From my universe, 1962 to 1963, American, the big name ones. ...If there are any."

This is the request Seymour gives Bar one day. Considering he is actually dressed - yes, in a button-down white shirt with cords, that's a given - in clean clothes, he made an attempt to comb his hair, and he didn't immediately order a beer, this is all a very big improvement.

When the newspapers arrive (there's a fair stack of them), Seymour gathers them up and goes to sit at a table so as not to spread newspapers all over Bar.

He doesn't look like he wants to start reading. In fact, he quite literally twiddles his thumbs. And then starts looking around. Because people-watching is always much better than reading.
