Johnny limps down the stairs, carrying Edward in one arm. He puts the baby down and puts a note on the bar.

He had a bit of help writing it, something he'd normally be too proud to ask for.

"Your capital letters have gone insane," Jack tells him, some time later, approaching slowly.

"They're all over the place."

"Not my fault, I can't write."

He winces slightly as he sits up to look Jack over, concerned.

"You okay?"

There's a big swollen gash under his eye.

Edward doesn't seem to notice. Then catches sight of Jack out of the corner of his eye and looks up with a small smile of recognition.

"I'm fine. I told you I would be."

He reaches out for Edward, who he still utterly adores.

"You were in a fight?"

Edward reaches up for a cuddle.

"Good." Johnny says quietly. "Still sorry though. I screwed with you big time."

He hesitates.

"Just a scratch..." he mumbles.
