He roams about outside. in the chill of the morning. It seems familiar, like somewhere he went on vacation. It's calming

He isn't alone out here. Amanda is enjoying the fresh air away from the bulk of the people. She has been spending alot of time out here because of the crowds.

She smiles over in the mans direction as they make eye contact. though such things are strange and she may look a little uncomfortable doing so. Her feet bear wearing modern clothing.

[dean_o_dell]

He smiles back, despite not really wanting to encourage anything female at the moment. Mindy's betrayal of his will sting for a long while.

"Hello."

"Hello" she returns. "I'm Amanda"

[dean_o_dell]

"Dean O'Dell." No, that would make his name seem like it's Dean, and he's not on campus. "Dean Cyrus O'Dell."

[immortal_now]

She looks at him not having a clue what a dean is so she doesn't understand why he is clarifying, "Very well." she nods not knowing how else to react.

"Have you been here long?"

[dean_o_dell]

"Just a few days. Took an unwanted bullet from someone I barely knew, and came on through the door. This isn't what I expected." Hard not to sense that he's still seething.

"And you?"

"It has not been long." looking at him with interest, "What is a bullet?" not invented until the 1500's a little before her time.

[dean_o_dell]

"A bullet...little metal tihng that's shot from a gun." He cocks his finger and shoots. "How do you not know what a bullet is?"

[immortal_now]

"I have never heard of a bullet or a gun." she thinks, "I am from 849" she explains, "Lady Bar provided me with these clothes." figuring that would explain it as most people, in fact everyone she has met has been from the future.

[dean_o_dell]

"849...AD?" First Will Scarlett and now this. What's that wording form Slaughterhouse-Five? Unstuck in time? "Well, that would explain why you don't know guns. They invent them a lot later."

"Most here are from the future." from her perspective at anyrate. She looks down, it is both exciting and frustrating.

[dean_o_dell]

"Well, from yours, at least. I'm from 2006 and haven't met anyone from my future." From what would have been his. It's hard to think of any world without him in it as having his future. "This must be weirder for you than for me."

[immortal_now]

"It can be. Everyone speaks so strangely and says so many words I do not understand." smiling, "It is fun at times."

[dean_o_dell]

"Well, English changes over time..." He pauses. "In fact, you shouldn't understand a word I'm saying. Or the reverse. The language of your time is as different as English is from Latin. And we aren't speaking Latin." How odd.

[immortal_now]

The thought of other languages hadn't even crossed her mind, "Of course we are not. Latin is for the clergy." she looked at him, "Perhaps it's more magic." she looks around a bit distrusting.

[dean_o_dell]

"Magic..." It's the first he's thinking about it. He's daad and has a body. And the Bar gives him food. And surely a woman of her time would call it magic. And might be right. Even if "magic" tends to be one of those words that either goes with sleight of hand or the Harry Potter books (which aren't bad but he really doesn't see the big deal about them). "I guess."
