There's a teenage boy sitting splayed on a couch, looking like today is the funniest thing he's seen in weeksHe's fairly short for a boy: compact, solidly muscled, but short. Despite that, he's sitting like he has a pair of basketballs in his pants, and he's laughing at pretty nearly everyone who passes

Katara tries very hard not to continue laughing, even as her face turns a little pink from the idea of dangly bits. "They were very nice boobs," she says instead, mournful and solemn as she pats Steph gently on the shoulder. "If you ever get them back, I'm sure you'll appreciate them more now."

"Don't say if," Stephen orders, gasping for shock -- or maybe that's just laughter again. "Everyone else is so pissed about this, they'll find a cure real quick. Besides ... even if I don't get them back, I'll just take advantage of yours instead."

He wiggles his eyebrows at her, draping an arm over her shoulder and stealing her milkshake with the other one.

Smirking, Katara elbows Steph in the stomach, stealing her shake back with her other hand. "These happen to be off-limits boobs," she informs her friend loftily, sticking out her chest-- and pausing.

It's probably best not to add that the addition of shochu can apparently change those limits.

"...anyway, what are you going to do if they find a cure and you're not ready yet? What if it's a change-back-now-or-never-again sort of thing?"

"I'm definitely changing back!" Stephen says, with a slightly feminine squeak to his voice at the end there. "This is fun for a day, but no way am I going without all the good bits for ever."

Blue eyes look back at her, blinking innocently for several seconds before Katara's gaze travels down, down, down.

"...all of them? Really?"

She could have sworn that at least one of those bits was supposed to be fun for all involved.

Stephen doesn't blush, because boys don't. But he grins at her a little rakishly, and the tips of his ears are rather red.

"Well ... I definitely want to, um, figure some stuff out before I go back. But I want my good bits once I'm done."

Katara considers this for a moment and when she looks up, she proves that girls most certainly do blush, even if they grin while it's happening.

"Tell me which is better?"

"So far?" Stephen says, and grins. "Boobs, all the way. It's so weird looking down and not seeing them. But I'll let you know. After I, um. Experiment." He ducks his head in a very girly gesture of embarrassment and reaches for her milkshake again.

Katara just giggles and lets him/her take it, leaning across the bar to order another. "I don't think I want to do it," she proclaims after retrieving her drink and sliding back onto her bar stool. "I'd be afraid I'd look too much like my brother."

Stephen sits back comfortably with his stolen milkshake and grins at her. "I don't have any brothers, so I'm okay. I don't look much like my dad, either. I'm way hotter than he ever was." He lifts his chin to pose for a moment, laughing.

Laughing, Katara kicks out at her friend lightly. "Great, like your ego needed boosting, now you have to actually be attracted to yourself."

"Hey, I'm hot," Stephen protests. "C'mon, I am, aren't I? If I was a girl I'd totally think I was hot. ... And I am!"

"You're an idiot," Katara informs her, rolling her eyes.

It's totally ruined by the shy grin, though. Stephen is hot.

"Yeah, I thought so," Stephen says smugly, grinning and slurping her milkshake. He's rather pleased by Katara's smile. It makes him go all warm and fuzzy inside.

Oh, wait, that's --

Oh, right. Of course. It's not as if That Night's not on Steph's mind half the time anyway when she's with Katara; Stephen supposes it's just easier to tell when things are ... external.

He sips his milkshake, rather preoccupied.

Coloring all the more for being caught (she's not sure if that's a product of Steph suddenly being a boy or Steph just being-- Steph), Katara lifts her chin and sticks her tongue out at her friend before returning to her milkshake.

Stephen just grins at her, smug. "Told ya. Hey, you sure you don't want to try? There are heaps of the mints left."
