Boromir has been at his post in the brothel, and comes downstairs a bit wearily.

At the sight of Sallie, though, he smiles, and he goes to her table.

"Madame," he says with a gallant bow.

"Boromir," Sallie returns pleasantly enough, if she does sit up a little straighter.

"You been keepin' yourself busy about this place? You look a little stretched today."

"I am indeed," he says with a slight laugh. "Stretched, as you say. May I join you?"

"Certainly. And if you'd like -- "

A finger pointed downward to the boxes of things from home.

"Was doing a little cleaning back at the house and thought some things are too good to not try 'n put to use."

Boromir takes a seat and looks into one of the boxes. He takes out something shiny, small and altogether unfamiliar. "What is this?"

He gives one of the buttons a poke and blinks when it starts playing a cheerful little song.

"Oh!" The song playing is full of fiddle and piano, Sallie laughing almost in tempo to it. "That's -- that's an audio capture. Depending on the type o' file that's on it, you can record messages coming in off the Cortex or just keep music on it.

"That song there is from a church festival a few years back -- funny, I thought I'd erased all o' that..."

Boromir turns it over, frowning. "Music is . . . captured?"

"Not physically captured as in trapped, no," Sallie recovers, remembering vividly the difference in backgrounds between herself and Boromir, "More like recorded to be played later."

"I see," Boromir says and hastily puts the device back in the box. "Its instruments must be miniscule."

Sallie construes 'instruments' as 'microprocessors' and nods. "That they are. But that's enough on old trifles. What've you been doin' that's kept you so occupied?"

"Merely my duties, madam: making certain there are no troublemakers among the Delicate Flowers." His lips twitch a little at the name--he's always found it amusing.

"What has inspired you to clean out so many of your belongings?"

"Things I don't need or want anymore. It don't help matters at my age to cling to things you don't actually truly need to hold onto."

He nods. "A wise decision at any age."

"Can't imagine as though you collect much of anything, given your general occupation durin' your own days, Boromir," Sallie infers. "Not much more than what keeps on horseback."

"No, indeed not," he says, shaking his head. "My sword and the clothes on my back is all I carry. Carried."

[ooc: :D. Thanks! It's a pretty one.]

The confusion of tenses is something Malcolm does as well from time to time, and Sallie understands it probably better than Boromir might imagine.

"But now? Now that you've gotten here, getting all soft?" Sallie jokes.
