Wes thinks he's got the hang of this "Pimm's" nonsense.

He flicked through his bartending book last night to find it, and indeed, it was there. Of course, he couldn't try making the cocktail until this afternoon. It took him a few tries to get it right, tasting the drink each time to see if it was any good yet

"Pimm's?" Ajedrez asks, sliding onto a bartstool and pulling her mane of brown hair from the high ponytail.

Someone's just got off from work.

Wes grins brightly at her. "Pimm's! Want to try a glass? Y'get a straw."

"A straw? Well, how can I refuse?"

"I knew the straw would be the deal breaker," he says solemnly.

He scoops some ice into a tall glass, then pours Pimm's from one of the pitcher; several pieces of fruit fall into the glass as well. He slides it over, then picks out a bright green straw and drops it in.

She flashes him a grin and takes the glass from him. A straw. She hasn't used a straw in years, but her cheeks still go artlessly concave as she sucks from it.

"Interesting.

I like the straw."

"All the cool kids use straws," he says with another grin.

"...wait, does that mean you don't like the drink itself?"

"It's not my thing...but I like it."

Wes gives her a thumbs up: right answer!

"Yeah, it's kinda girly -- uh, no offense. But supposedly it's really popular in summer, on Earth?" He shrugs. "Or something."

"I'm tomboyish enough that I can feel secure in my girlyness."

"Oh, good," with a grin. "Not many who can say that. Me on the other hand, I got nothin'. I just like anythin' with alcohol."
