"I know," says Darren, amiably, into his cell phone, as he pushes the door open.

"Life is fucking nuts, isn't it?"

And the door that had been supposed to lead to the Swan Theatre clearly does not any longer.

Darren's reaction, for once in his life, is to shut up.  Bet it won't last long.
