He isn't expecting this. Nobody really expects this the first time, but Marcus was only just mentally preparing himself for being a part of the (fucked up, gone to hell in a hand-basket) world again, preparing to fight and to win and, if necessary, die for his world and his species.
You don't need a surprise like this when you're trying to prepare yourself for that kind of thing.
He's barely in the door when the assault rifle goes up, finger hovering over the trigger. There's no safety to turn off; Locust weapons simply aren't built with a safety. Nobody ever bothers to ask why. Once you've fought them, seen them, known them, you just get it.
He doesn't know where he is or how he got here or where Dom is, but this isn't Sera, this isn't the prison, and this isn't where he was expecting to be.
Which means he wants an explanation, and he wants it yesterday.
