He hasn't been back on shore in the days since encountering a new arrival. If anyone asked, Jack wouldn't say he was sulking, either. Brooding, maybe.

The food stores ran low yesterday. (At least there's still plenty of rum.) As a result, Gibbs had gone ashore... and still hasn't returned. Jack's deeply certain that's not good -- not good at ( Read more... )

There is the softest flurry of wings, and then Raven is seated on the ship's rail, bare feet swinging idly.

She tilts her head, watching Jack.

"Hiding is easier when you are not for talking, I think."

She is surprised Jack does not already know this.

"Not bloody interested in hiding, luv," Jack retorts instantly.

"More-- pacing, like."

Raven snorts, slipping from the rail to stand next to him.

She kicks him, too.

It is lucky she is made of clay.

"It is not so bad a story, that. Still."

"Hey!"

He hops a step or two away on one foot, rubbing at his shin. Jack glares at her.

"Not sure I deserved that."

Raven just wrinkles her nose.

Possibly she is trying not to grin.

"Sometimes it is not a question of deserving, yes?"

"Mmph."

Jack strolls a prudent distance away and absently wraps his hand around a lanyard, leaning his weight back against it.

"Now what brings you to me Pearl this evening, luv?"

"Mostly the company?"

Raven grins, stepping forward again.

"Also the clacking."

She tugs at one of his braids, very carefully.

Well--mostly carefully.

He grins back, blithely unrepentant.

"Could put your feather back in me hair."

Raven laughs and leans closer to him.

"I could pull out all your hair, perhaps."

Not that this is a threat, of course.

Then she pokes him in the side.

Not too hard.

He reaches out and tangles his free hand in her hair, black eyes gleaming with mischief.

"Turn about's fair in a situation like that, aye?"

Raven's grin is, abruptly, very sharp.

Also very amused.

"I am very quick."

And his groin is within reach of her knees.

Or her hands.

Oops?

Jack glances down the length of Raven's body to her poised hands, and then grins.

"Well now, luv, if it's like that--"

And with that, he leans forward and steals a kiss.

Raven kisses back.

With tongue.

There might also be groping.

What?

There's no complaint from the pirate, who returns the gesture with enthusiasm before pulling back enough to grin down at her once more.

"And here I thought you were all clayey, luv."

Raven makes a face at him, then tweaks his nose.

Because she can.

"That, too."

Then she gropes him again.

"Easy on the goods, darlin'," Jack drawls. "Especially if you don't mean to go finishing what you start, aye?"
