Both of his hands are on the handle of his cane, one on top of the other, and Cottle's stuff is either weaker than he said it was or it's not doing its job at all.
Adama glances up. "Dr. Tam." With not so much a nod as his glance dropping back and his head going with it. "Does the front door disappear often?"
A very small nod. He doesn't look up immediately. (He's thinking.)
"Three days ago I was shot twice in the chest." When he looks up, the light glints off the frames of his glasses. "As I understand it...the ship's physician had to operate twice. I've been awake for...a little under three hours. And now -- you're saying I can't leave." Beat. "I apologize for asking. I'd appreciate some assistance."
