House's outlook on life, as a fellow medic, seems a little odd to him. It's not that he's over-idealistic; some days when he's had a couple of patients trying to beat him up or he's run himself to near exhaustion he wonders why the hell he still does the job. But every day the same?
Maybe he's a dermatologist or something. I guess skin would get less interesting with time.
