Yrael had been thinking of seeing how the ship on the lake affects the acoustics of the area, but his wandering stroll towards the lake has slowed to a stop, by now.
He's been thoroughly distracted. He watches, standing silent in the long, uncut grasses of summer.
The dance is a beautiful, dangerous thing. It saddens him, in a way, for it reminds him of Rachel. And it saddens him, for though the dance is one for passion and fire, of daring to move in such brilliance and, defiant and proud, not be consumed by it, to be of it... the dancer is yet unable to truly feel passion, unable to feel pride.
And then the mun almost realizes how those 'How are you?' questions can be misconstrued as questions of a Nobody's existence, as in 'How are you even existent?' or 'How have you been? You're not supposed to be!'
"I slept like a rock after the incident with the catnip," Yrael says, ruefully. An unbreathing, completely still rock.
A warm rock, though. A warm rock with a warm pillow.
"Saw Sora the other day. I was curious about some of the details on how your corner of the multiverse views hearts, but I don't think he trusted me enough to give me any real answers." Yrael shrugs, gently shaping the truth with perfect nonchalance.
"If he had any idea you were associating with the likes of me, he'd trust you even less," he says frankly. "As for Ansem..." He trails off. "He's undeniably an expert on the topic, but I wouldn't trust him."
"Would he have answers and be willing to give them to someone who shows an intent interest fueled by insatiable curiosity?" Yrael asks, giving Axel a sideways glance, complete with raised eyebrow.
"I was just asking, to see if I should even bother asking him or not," Yrael says, lightly.
"I had a thought, don't act surprised, yes I know it's an occasion for celebration... I had a thought, and it made me curious. Since I do not know much about what hearts mean, in your part of the multiverse, I asked. I found that Sora, for all his being Keyblade Master, doesn't know much about hearts. He explains things as though everyone already knows them, as if it were obvious."
Yrael makes a face. "My curiosity can't be satisfied with vague non-answers."
"He understands a lot more than most would give him credit for," Axel says. "But he does it intuitively, and you can't necessarily explain that sort of thing."
"My ex-boss," Axel says after a moment. "Possibly. And there's a wizard, Yen Sid, who might." He pauses again, consideringly. "King Mickey. And maybe Riku."

"Hey."
No sweat. No heavy breathing.

"Evening," Yrael says with a smile. "You dance magnificently."
Reply
"Thanks." He plunks himself down, and gestures for Yrael to sit with him.

He's had lots of practice.
"How have you been?" He asks, idly.

She figures she's over-analyzing.

"Oh, about the same," he replies. "Nothing much changes for me, you know? What about you?"

"He mentioned a person named Ansem."

"He would be very, very suspicious."
He pauses a moment, and then looks at Yrael through narrowed eyes.
"Why?"

Maybe in another ten years, or so.

Huh. Humans.
"Would you know where Ansem could be found? Or even his research, if he would not be willing to share information?"

"Would anyone else have as much information as he?"
