Edmund grins, and makes a subtle gesture to a waitrat as he stands. "Another cup, if you please?" he asks it, adding "I'm fine, thank you. Hectic and bad, or just hectic?"
She's from the end of Miraz's reign, he remembers.
Things aren't going to get that hectic for another month or so.
Er.
"Mostly hectic. My grandmother's been ill for a month or so, and we've been packing so that she and my grandfather can take a cart to Beruna to be with the family, Nell--my sister--has more time to take care of her than I do." Cora explains, "She's not that badly off, though, just...the doctor wants her to keep to her bed."

Good lord, you look past knackered, Edmund does not say.
"The boys are keeping you busy, I see?" he politely substitutes. "I've tea if you'd care for some."
The offer of one of the chairs at his table is implied, and he'll stand politely if she accepts it.

"Hello, Edmund! It's not really the boys, well--it's not only the boys, I suppose, but things have been...hectic."
It all comes out in a bit of a rush, and she pauses, embarassed. "Which is to say that tea would be lovely, thank you. How are you?"
