She is Marian and he will support her however he can though he doesn't like the idea of her risking herself, but Rabastan has pushed those thoughts farther down.
Now he just stands, worried for her and wishing he could do something to help her.

The words are said without looking up or away. Perhaps there was some peripheral notice of the clothes or the posture. Maybe it was just something in the air, that made them know, like right before storms hit, or when Sherwood's leaves were about to change colors.

"Did Sir Guy give ye the ring, milady?"

She lets a sigh out, moving her gaze from the ring to his hands, but not up yet. She's not sure she can look up for the things she's about to say, and she's not sure she could be brave enough to say them to anyone else.
"Will? Would you give up everything for Robin?"
Reply
"Aye, somedays almost wish the Sheriff 'ad 'ung me than put Robin in such danger to save me."

She understands the guilt, even when it doesn't sound in his tone. Hates that their all the same. That it's all coming down to this.
"Everything? Without qualm or proviso?"

There's no hesistation just determination in Will's voice, he went through hell and didn't break or betray Robin, his life is worth less than Robin's and he would give it up if it would help Nottingham.

Marian doesn't say anything finally, but her hands in her lap have begun trembling as she starts shaking her head, gaze moving back to the ring.

"Tell me, Lady Marian, twill do all I can to 'elp ye."

Marian would be crying, if she let herself. But she'd spent the day and the night not crying. Before Robin, the sheriff, and Guy. It was a pain in her more than a need to let anything out now.
"I can't."
Tiny and thin.
It's the smallest whisper.

"Ye're safe 'ere, Lady Marian, twillna let 'im 'arm ye 'ere."

Well, perhaps her pride in defending him. But aside from that, nothing. Many other people had punctured her armor today though.
"I'm not afraid of him."
She throws her head back for a moment, and then reaches her hands out to cup over the ring. So she can stop looking.
"It's the only thing I can't sacrifice that I'd have to give to not wear this."

Will moves away, afraid he's insulted her again and gets up to sit across from her, feeling powerless again.

It was Much's devotion she saw before her eyes and the words he'd said in her ears.
Unwavering before his insanity, even as he'd run through the forest to get her to calm Robin. A devotion of years and possible brain cells, definitely life times worth of near misses and close calls.

Will says in that old and determined voice as he meets her gaze, she should know better than to doubt him, for he is Will Scarlett and Robin's man even in the bowels of hell.

She allowed her hands to open slightly, feeling sickened that the first thought was it really is rather pretty. Her voice was slow as her hands slid open around it, leaving it in a circle of her thumbs and fore fingers.
"My father would not join the Merry Men. It's not his way and he's not-" there's a pause. It's respectful, but it's also something she just couldn't say. Not simply as a Lady but as a Daughter. "He's not as young as he used to be."
