Will's feeling in a good mood after starting the morning by meeting Kyo, he's bruised and holding his dinner and a mug of ale looking for a table when he spots Chase,
"Good e'en, sir, may I join ye, tis crowded tonight,"
He says with a bow and a smile towards Chase, a scruffy, slightly sore medieval man with sword and knife at his side.
Chase's eyes immediately go to the sword at the man's side, then to his face, watching him for a brief moment before nodding his head. It takes him a moment to realize once more that yes, this is Milliways. And yes, he ought to expect things like this (this being medieval folk carrying swords and the like).
"Sure," he says, pushing his coffee a little closer towards him to allow more space.
"Aye, met 'nother Australian 'ere, man named Jim Craig from the Snowy Mountains believe 'e said, sir,"
Jim was nice and gave Will a sense of how far away Australia is from his home, he gives a smile at Chase as he drinks again, relaxing and curious about a man who lives so far from where he was born.
"Aye, twas nice, 'is year twas 1838 or 88, dinna 'member and 'e worked with 'orses though called 'im brumbies, sir,"
Will gives Chase a surprised look, Milliways wakes up his curiousity and he loves finding out the stories of strangers and can't imagine someone not wanting that,
"Why e'er not, sir, tis a safe 'aven from the troubles o'the world?"
"Well, it's safe enough," Chase says. "But in my world, there isn't too much to be afraid of anyway. The law's...pretty advanced. I just don't come here often enough."
He gestures to his coffee and gives Will a half-smirk.
"It's why I've always got a coffee whenever I am here. Best coffee I've ever had."
"Aye, found it too bitter meself though there's chocolate which isna in Nottingham. Tis safer than Nottingham and Sherwood for me though Lady Bar 'as decided I'm 'ere till I'm 'ealed 'nough,"
Will takes a sip of his ale as he rubs his wrist and his green eyes look even older before asking with a smile since curiousity is good for getting rid of dark thoughts,
"What do ye do that ye twould travel so far from yer 'ome?"
"I don't ever mean to end up here when I do," Chase explains, half studying Will for any wounds he might have, after he mentions something about being healed. Can't help it. "But I'm a doctor in my world."
Will has no obvious wounds, he's just holding himself a little stiffly from the new bruises he acquired in the fight with Kyo and he treats his left arm gently as Kyo hurt the arrow wound on his upper arm,
"Aye, tis the same for me, tis always a surprise to be 'ere, usually enter through a door. Last time twas through two trees that form a Faerie gate in Sherwood, sir."
"Faerie gate?" Chase repeats, obvious surprise (and maybe even skepticism?) in his voice. This whole...Sherwood and Faerie gate thing sounds a lot like the Robin Hood stories Chase used to read as a boy.
But...well, that would just be weird if this fellow was from his story-books. Right?
"I came here today through the cafeteria doors -- rather fitting, I think. It's always a different set of doors."
"Aye, two trees that form a door, walked through at a moment o'rest in Sherwood. Twas good, 'adna slept for two days and 'ad an arrow in me, but tis 'ealed well 'nough,"
Will says as he sits straighter trying to look better but this just makes the soreness more apparent as he rubs at the arrow wound before saying,
"Aye tis the same for me, ne'er come through the same door."

Will says with a smile and look of no I'm not an outlaw, really quite safe as he sits down.

Will says as he takes a drink of ale and takes a longer look at Chase since the lab coat doesn't mean anything to him.

"That sounds quite...fantastic," he says. "This Faerie gate, I mean. Is there a reason why it's called 'Faerie'?"
Yes, there is a possibility that he might be fishing for answers here.
