Gibbs is on the deck of the Black Pearl, minding his business, when he sees a rock traveling across the sky. As if someone threw it. He's not particularly surprised at first - he thinks it's Rachel playing with the pink beastie again.
But then he doesn't see the lass. No, he sees a young man doing this. Surprise now registers. But it's mild surprise. This is Milliways, after all.
"Careful, lad, some of us live out here," he calls out.
There isn't too much noise that Clark can't pinpoint specific voices, especially when they're likely directed at him.
"Sorry, sir," he calls back, automatically returning to simply tossing the few he has left to just a few feet out in front of him. "I didn't think anyone would notice."
Naturally, Clark saw the ship. He'd even heard the people aboard it, but how does he tell this man the rocks weren't going to end up anywhere near the ship?
He doesn't.
"I guess I didn't realize how close they were getting," he offers apologetically. "And I didn't mean any offense."
Riley likes it outside. It's nice, especially now that it's warming up a little, and you can skip stones in the lake (or at least try; Riley's not very good at it) and look at all the -- trees. And stuff. And it's kind of nice, yeah.
He makes his way down toward the lake shore, mug of coffee in one hand and trying fruitlessly to pat down his hair with the other, and he plunks down on a rock, watching the pirate ship bob on the lake.
Riley has zombie-like tunnel vision when he's just woken up. Eventually, he may notice the splashes and the familiar figure a ways away, but for now? Mmmmm coffee.
[OOC: Will have to run to class soon, but I wanted to get this in before I do. I'll tag a few times, then is slowtime til tonight okay?]
Riley's footsteps, his breathing, the coffee sloshing around the mug, his clothes scraping against the rock when he sits down - Clark hears all this and he can tell it's someone close. He barely has to glance over to confirm exactly who it is.
The rocks are abandoned and he sighs heavily. Might as well get this over with. "We need to talk," he says plainly, and loud enough for Riley to hear.
Riley starts. Hissing at the hot coffee, he sets down the mug on the rock beside his leg and wipes his hand on his jeans. With that auspicious start to the conversation, he glances up, expression more guarded than is his habit. "Yeah."
"Whatever she told you about me? You don't mention to anyone else. Ever. Not here, not in your world, not when you're in Smallville for Thanksgiving," Clark frowns at that. Much as he'd like to rescind Chloe's invitation, he won't.
Lex had taken the time to get to know his new surroundings. To be learning he's bound to the the bar wasn't the most pleasing of news he received. He made a couple of mates already but had already begun to miss those in Smallville, his real friends.
He's looking over the lake from afar. Relaxing Lex takes a peek around the shores and sees a figure remarkably similar to Clark kent's. Heturns for a second and slowly has another look, but he's still there.
Lex gets up and goes to stand behind Clark.
"You know, if you want the rocks to skid across the water you flex your hand first..."
Lex waits till Clark's full body turns his way. As he asks, Lex can't help but hide a grin. Unfortunately outside they weren't on good terms, but he hoped it would change both now being stuck in MIlliways.
"Yeah, I guess I didn't expect to see you here either."

His arm stills and he turns slowly, hoping it's just his hearing still playing up on him. "Lex?"
