Zuko blinks his eyes quietly, tilting his head; she sat down on his blind side, where his vision is poor with the ruin of his eye. He turns to look at her, expression flat, hair falling across his face.

"Small steps. I haven't eaten well in the last--" Month and a half, "couple of weeks. If I rush, I'll only make myself sick."

He looks back to his meal -- a bit of lightly sauced chicken is eaten. Still not enthused.

"It was not a medical issue," Zuko says quietly. "I don't need the services of a healer. I just need time." Time, and the ability to give a damn about himself, but mostly time.

Though the other would be extraordinarily helpful for time, too.

"I don't believe I've made your acquaintance, miss?" Talk about anything but him; talk about her. Anything to get her attention away.

"Actually, 'Li'," says the man in the gray suit, "I'd just about managed to stop worrying until I got the note. Do you know, I actually had to ask Bar whom it was from?"

Zuko looks up from his meal, and manages not to look entirely sour. "What, never heard of an alias?"

He doesn't seem to be jumping to explain himself.

"I have several of them myself," he says dryly. "But I didn't know this one was an alias for you."

"Not my fault you were uninformed," Zuko grumbles as he pokes his meal.
