The door opens, and Chase enters the space, a deep-blue coloured file (tox screen tests) in his hand. There is a slightly contemplative (maybe even preoccupied) expression on his face as though he's thinking about something that is taking up quite a bit of his attention span, but once he recognizes his surroundings, he accepts where he is and makes ( Read more... )

Chase comes out of his zone -- only partially -- and turns to him.

"Oh," he says for lack of anything better. "Yeah."

"Long day?"

He nods, reaching for his coffee.

"Yeah -- more like long week, actually."

Long, strange week.

"Not long enough to drink," he notes, eying the other man's coffee.

That is true.

"I don't think it'd help me if I was drunk," he says with a wry smile and a slight shrug.

Chase opens his mouth, then closes it, eyes going to the tox-screen file. "Time stops here, right? So I suppose not," he says.

"What sort of situation are you in?"

"Hmm...an odd one," he replies, clearing his throat a bit. "My co-worker and I are being chastised for...having a healthy sex life, I suppose. To put it bluntly."

He shrugs. There is more to that, of course, but he doesn't much like to think about it.

He chuckles. He certainly knows that one.

"And your superiors don't think having a healthy sex life is good for your line of work."

"Well, not when we're..." He clears his throat again, "...supposed to be working."

He blames it on Cameron, of course.
