OOM The SoBe dome is proud to present the "TouchDown Jump" starring everyone's favorite daredevil, Johnny Blaze!

Milliways has seen it's fair share of patrons dressed oddly.

So maybe the man in the snazzy white jumpsuit with his name emblazoned on the back won't cause a stir. Then again, if you're at all familiar with motocross (in at least ( Read more... )

Ray looks up from where he's reading his carefully covered and neutral-looking copy of the Dune Encyclopedia. "Oh, you're new," he says to the guy in the jumpsuit. "Hi there."

Pause, "...New? No." Johnny waves a hand, "Least I didn't think I was. I've been to the Dome before." Hell, he's performed here before.

"....Oh you mean this bar?" Johnny grins sheepishly, "I guess I am. I thought they put all the bars on the main concourse?"

"They probably did. The door's a little weird," says Ray. He's in civilian clothes himself- Green Lantern shirt, cargo pants. "Which way did you come in from, exactly?"

"The uh-" Johnny notes the shirt and wonders why people haven't swamped him askin' for autographs yet, "The SoBe dome. I arrived for the touch down jump?"

Pause. Why the hell haven't you recognized me?

Instead, he extends his hand, deciding to make the first move, "....Johnny Blaze."

Ray leans over to shake the offered hand. "Ray Stantz," he says. "Pleased to meet you. Uh, you're not anywhere near the dome any more, at least not at the moment. Long story."

As evinced by the rat that skitters up to Ray's table, not in the fashion of the rats in the Soho KFC, but in the fashion of a very important and busy waitrat who would like the human to please take his order of French fries off the tray now, okay, thank you? GOOD human.

At least it's not on his head.

".......that's a rat."

Pause.

"...And This place doesn't have the look of a sleezy saloon or a place where kids regularly drop cotton candy and/or popcorn."

"Yeah, it is." Ray takes his fries; the rat squeaks once and scampers off. "They work here. They're considerably more hygienic than the normal kind. Welcome to Milliways, Mr. Blaze."

Johnny stares at Ray for a moment, looking at him intently.

Then, "....Did I hit my head? I didn't take my bike, I remember getting off the bus. Some kinda...weird...cerebral fluid thing in my temporal lobe?"

Perhaps this man's in a coma somewhere along with Johnny.

"...S'possible. I mean, I crash upon occasion. ....Are we really having this conversation or is this some sort of spectral temporal travelling device?"

All of his occult knowledge has just fled out the window.

"Spectral no. Temporal traveling yes," says Ray. "You're actually physically present, but we are in fact at the end of recorded time, or at least pretty close to it. See that window over there? That's the Universe ending. Or, rather, multiple universes collapsing down into a single point."

This he can deal with! At least they're in the right general vicinity,r ight?

Johnny follows Ray's direction, only to stare openmouthed, "....Oh my god-"

It's...

Beautiful

"...That's-"

Beautiful

His mouth opens and closes a few times, "....Hot damn."

"Yeah, it tends to have that effect on people," Ray says. "Incredible, isn't it?"

"In the Beginning how the Heav'ns and Earth, Rose out of Chaos." Johnny frowns, "...That we must change for Heav'n, this mournful gloom For that celestial light?"

He shakes his head, "....S'something else. It's a wonder everybody here can take their eyes off it."

"They pretty nearly had to peel me off with a crowbar when I first got here," Ray acknowledges. "A lot of people can't handle the implications. Also, the Bar's selection is pretty astounding as far as alcohol goes, which tends to be a distraction in and of itself."

"...I don't drink."

Johnny shakes his head, practically falling into a chair, "...gives me really bad nightmares and-"

Far from the bar or not, there is now a martini glass filled with jelly beans between the two men.

Johnny just stares.

"It also does food," Ray says a little unnecessarily. "And, um, non-alcoholic drinks. It's pretty good about guessing, but it works better if you come out and say what you want."

"....Nobody knows that-" He points at the Jelly beans, "Outside of Mack and the rest of my crew. Nobody knows that I like Jellybeans."
